it’s always my mum, sometimes she calls me by my brother’s name or some amalgamation of our names
sometimes she calls me by our dog’s name

My dad sometimes cycle through the names the four of us before he gets to the appropriate match or “no, you.” 

I’m glad to learn I’m not the only one this happens to

Pappa was about seven years older than his little sister and thus a third parent to her. I get called by her name a lot.

I have been Allison, Darlene, Laura, and Jon in my lifetime.  Or any of my older male cousins.

I get Veronica all the time, which is really weird cause my aunt lives half the country away from us, and has since before I was born. 

Guys…I get called the damn iguana’s name. The damn iguana.

Try getting called siblings, cousins and then the CATS names…before she goes OI Dewey cause one of mom’s nicknames for me and my sisters was Hewey Dewey and Louie….. after the duck tales gang… XD

My dad would just holler names until the one he wanted showed up.

I was an only child so…my Mom obviously never did. My maternal grandmother however constantly called me by my mom’s sister’s name. Which SUCKED because my mom’s sister is a shameful horrible waste of oxygen.

My dad once went through a few of the cats’ names before he eventually got to mine.

My maternal grandmother kept calling me by my cousin’s name. When I told her that wasn’t what I’m called, she asked what my name was.

My grandma would call every teenage girl in the family’s name until the one she wanted comes. This would take at least 5-10 mintues before she even got to me. Sometimes, she would just forgot all of our names and called yell at us all like it was our fault she forgot our names. Between calling the names, she would snap her fingers and say gibberish in Spanish.

My mom confuses me with my baby sister. I have no idea why. Even worse is when she confused my brother and my baby sister. He was so hurt. And when she’s trying to remember our names she’ll snap her fingers and mutter in Okpella and finally just say “YOU”.
